What exactly is the Draux solution, and what does it include?

The Draux set includes 3 separate products:

A tracking device (Apple Airtag™ or Samsung SmartTag2™, depending on your phone manufacturer).
A holder that attaches to the animal’s collar, in which the tracking device mentioned in point 1 is placed.
An animal collar to which the insert mentioned in point 2 can be attached.

Is this solution suitable for my animal?

It all depends on how populated the area you live in is. Tracking devices only send you data when someone with their phone moves within a radius of approximately 10 meters from your pet. if the phone is from the same manufacturer as your tracking device and is connected to the internet, it will send location data to a server, which will then forward the information to your app.

We recommend our solution to customers who live in cities, suburbs, or areas with high traffic.

We do not recommend purchasing this device if you live in a rural area, as there will not be enough people around whose phones could connect to your pet’s tracking device.

Do I need a SIM card or a subscription?

No subscription or SIM card is required for the tracker, which sets us apart from our competitors.

Question 4

How far away can an animal be found?

Accepted Answer

You need to understand that there are two ways to connect to the tracker.

Your pet approached a passer-by with a phone, if the connection was successful, you will see in your phone app the location data that the passer-by’s phone has transmitted to you. With this type of connection, you can find out the location of an animal from an unlimited distance from your home, as long as there are people with phones nearby.
You can determine the exact location if you are with your phone within a 10m radius of the tracking device, an arrow will show you the direction the connection is coming from.

Does the device work without internet?

Accepted Answer

To better understand this question, please refer to the answer to the question “How far away can an animal be found?” answer.
Your phone needs internet access to access the last known location of the animal, as transmitted by passing devices. If you don’t have internet, you won’t see this information until you connect to the internet. The location data is stored and you can access it as soon as you are connected to the internet.
If you are within 10m of the animal, your phone will need to be connected to the internet to determine the exact location of the animal.

How are the Apple AirTag™ and Samsung SmartTag™ versions different?

Accepted Answer

The functionality of the devices is not very different from each other.
We offer devices from two manufacturers because the device manufactured by Apple Airtag™ will only be compatible and connect to the host’s phone if the host uses an Apple phone. The same applies to the SmartTag™ manufactured by Samsung, which can only be connected to a Samsung phone.

How often is location information updated?

The location is updated every time your animal comes within ~10 metres of a person (and vice versa) with the same manufacturer phone (with internet connection) as your animal tracker, even if a passer-by passes by the animal, the location data will be updated.
The same data will be updated if the animal approaches a private house or apartment building and there is a phone within a 10 m radius of the building that meets the conditions described above.
When testing in a suburban area with 5000 inhabitants, the location is updated ~ every 30 minutes – 2 hours during the day.
At night the location is updated less frequently, it all depends on where your animal is, if it is hidden in a place where there are no people and does not move all night, then the location will not be updated.

Can I track multiple animals with one phone?

Yes, you can track up to 32 Airtag™ devices at the same time with your Apple phone.
With a Samsung phone you can track up to 200 devices at the same time.

Question 11

How and how often should I change the battery?

Accepted Answer

According to our tests, the battery needs to be replaced about once a year.
This differentiates us from our competitors, most of whom have to recharge the battery 1-2 times a week, which means that the tracker has to be disconnected from the animal and reconnected all the time.
Both devices use a small CR2032 battery, which costs around 1-2€ in shops.
